Len is a Solicitor and leads the Macks Employment Law Department from Darlington; in his role Len represents employees and employers in unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, and discrimination and whistleblowing cases. He advises on disputes about pay and contractual and statutory rights such as pregnancy and maternity leave. He also advises on disciplinary procedures, bullying, grievances, redundancy, re-organisation and settlement agreements.

Len qualified as a solicitor in November 1999, and prior to joining Macks in September 2019, Len was a Consultant Employment Law Solicitor at a national law firm. He was attracted to Macks due to its outstanding reputation and strong client base. Today he provides legal advice in relation to Employment Law and representation in Employment Tribunals. For employers specifically, Len drafts employment contracts and employment hand books with full policies and procedures, as well as the full range of employment law advice and representation in Employment Tribunals.

Len can recount some stand out moments in his career; he has a particularly passion for Winning Employment Tribunal claims for unlawful discrimination, unfair and constructive dismissal, and representing a client who won a claim for disability discrimination for the employer’s failure to make reasonable adjustments and then after his return to work winning claims for victimisation and harassment against the same employer.

Outside of work, Len enjoys swimming, running and walking his dog.
