Back injury compensation in case of employer negligence

According to HSE statistics, musculoskeletal disorders, including back injuries, are the most common type of work-related illness reported. This equates to 3.3 million working days lost in 2009/10 because of musculoskeletal disorders. Measures can be taken by employers to reduce the risk of back injuries in the work place. One company has introduced on-site physiotherapy to reduce the impact of back injuries and has reduced the number of employee injuries and the amount of sickness leave as a result. Unfortunately, not all employers put this much care into their workers’ wellbeing. If a company’s negligence results in an injury at work, the employee may be able to submit a claim for back injury compensation.
